A vision, burning desire, and alcohol. I love making people laugh and playing with digital art. I’ve always been tickled by weird things, selecting outfits, and getting the most out of life. There were a few quirky brands out there, but I wanted to create what was missing in my wardrobe- something rad, fitted, and slightly inappropriate!
How do you come up with your designs?
Certain images, sounds, and phrases resonate over and over in my head. I recently saw a cat licking its ##&! and I couldn’t get the image out of my head for weeks. I then decided to make it into a tank top. I’ve been “diagnosed” with all kinds of mental issues but I just use them to my advantage. I have a whiteboard in my bedroom and it’s filled with endless bullshit. If I’m stumped, I usually start by looking at my whiteboard.
Future plans for P&C?
I’m destined to have an upbeat home-based P&C storefront with a print shop and creative “peace” lounge in the back. My goal is to have Polly in every Urban Outfitters, Surf & Skate shop, and specialty boutique in the world. I can see this brand being a huge hit among wild Japanese school girls intoxicated by American fashion.
What sets you apart?
I don’t want to print stupid shirts and profit off people. This brand represents the Gen Y movement of self-expression, freedom, and honesty. I love regularly donating to legitimate causes, making people smile, and spreading my skewed philosophy via hang-tags.
What is up with your hang-tags?
Ideally, when you read a P&C hang-tag, I want you to be extremely confused but in love simultaneously. Most people read it and look at me like I’m clinically insane. I love that.
